In late January, H.E. President Museveni of Uganda visited The Hunger Project's Mpigi Epicenter. During his visit, President Museveni indicated that he would seek to give THP-Uganda approximately US$200,000 this calendar year and provide a truck to the epicenter to transport food collected from partners for distribution.

On December 1, 2009, The Hunger Project-Uganda commemorated World AIDS Day at the Kiboga District's main playground. Over 500 people participated in the event, and the Kiboga Resident District Commissioner was the guest of honor.

A Hunger Project loan helped Edridah Tumushabe Warugaba begin a small poultry business. In doing so, she developed skills which will ensure her success in the future.
